Kingship Praise By Sonia King

Sonia King had already been singing and recording when she was asked in 1985 to record and tour with a popular group from Jamaica called “Channels of Praise“. Shortly after that she became one of the lead vocalists for the Handsworth Mass Choir who received the BBC Gospel Choir of the Year award in 1987, this led to various appearances for television, radio and Greenbelt.

Following this Sonia worked with gifted singer/songwriter and musician Paul Poulton on three of his albums, as well as touring with him. Her contribution to Paul’s “Body and Soul” album was highlighted by Dave Roberts in the Alpha Magazine as “..stratospheric backing vocals“.

Sonia King’s latest CD EP entitled “Kingship Praise” was released on 28th March 2020 and has four tracks, blending an R&B cover of the popular song, “You are my strength”, Sixties Jive and a couple versions of a Worship Anthem witha heartfelt call for the return of Jesus. These songs reflect a part of Sonia’s recent journey and aim to share upliftment and encouragement from God’s Word and out of her personal experiences.
