Little about Shoggy Tosh

Shoggy Tosh (born in Birmingham, United Kingdom on 9 January 1974) is a multi-award winning publisher, producer, author radio and television presenter mentored by Rev. Tim Omotoso. He is the founder of The Official Stars Homepage Magazine, TV & PR and also a British/Nigerian rapper.

Back in Nigeria whilst studying at Federal University of Technology, Akure, Shoggy joined a dancing and singing group, ‘Second to None’ and performed at various events, university shows and the 1995 Guinness / Legend concert held at Ileoluji, Ondo state.

Shoggy was a manager at Tesco from 2004 to 2007 before resigning to establish his own magazine (TOSH Mag) and publish his debut book, Divine Favour (2016). He left England for Nigeria at the age of 5 but returned when he was 22 to further his studies at London South Bank University.

He is the publisher of TOSH Mag, TV & PR – a top web based entertainment magazine, online TV and public relations Company based in London, United Kingdom. Tosh’s TV show tagged TOSH Mag TV Show first aired on BEN Television in 2009 and was broadcast for 18 months to viewers across Europe via BSkyB and Sky Television and Africa via MyTV. It was scripted and produced by Shoggy and Femi Best Touch, and won over eight international awards. Tosh also won the TV presenter of the year 2012 in the whole of Africa at the Africa Gospel Music Awards in London and in 2010 at the BEFFTA’S, he edged out Alesha Dixon,

Makosi Musambasi and former England and Arsenal F.C. football star turned TV presenter, Ian Wright.

On 9 January 2014, he released his debut rap single, “emujow” featuring Shady Blue and Jamaican gospel dancehall star, Dunamis Reignz and produced by Pastorchild which topped the reverbnation ‘dance’ chart at #1 in London (February 2014), peaked at #2 in United Kingdom and #38 in the world. It also won the best African praise/contemporary song at the 2014 PGMA London awards.

His 2nd released song, “Pamoto” featuring Henrisoul produced by Pastorchild was his breakthrough song as it racked up over 170,000 downloads, was the most downloaded gospel song on My not just ok platform in 2015, and won 5 international awards (London 2015 PGMAwards; the Gathering of Africa’s Best London 2015 (for positively contributing to Africa’s image through music and entertainment); Akademia, Hollywood – Best Contemporary song Dec, 2015; Akademia, Hollywood – Best Music Video in Christian Dance Jan, 2016; & Afrobeat artist of the year 2016 – Gospel Xplosion Music Media Awards United Kingdom).

Pamoto was #1 for 7 consecutive weeks on Top 10 Gospel Chart – ITV Radio 92.3FM Benin, Nigeria [1 Nov – 6 Dec 2015], #8 on UK Christian Chart – November, 2015, #1 on African Selections – The Drive – Spirit 96.6FM Uganda [29/4/2016  12 /5/2016] & #3 on the Supreme Top20 Countdown – Spirit 96.6FM Uganda [14/5/2016].

Shoggy Tosh then performed his first ever gig at a mash up Christmas Carol tagged London 2015 Christmas Live’ alongside Noel Robinson, Bekln Mile (2015 Xfactor stars), Lurine Cato

(2013 Gospel Mobo awards winner), and many other top gospel stars. He followed that up with a special invite to perform at the 2015/2016 Ultimate New year’s eve Praise party in North London and a feature at the Birmingham’s Sports and Cultural Day at Handsworth Park in collaboration with Gospel Xplosion in August 2016 and again in 2018.

Testifie featuring multi award winning singer Lara George produced by Okey Sokay was the 3rd single from Shoggy Tosh’s unreleased album ’emujow’ and so far has over 164,000 soundcloud downloads. Shoggy then dropped his 4th single, ‘PET Remix’ mixed by DJ Kaykang (a mix of 3 of his songs  Pamoto, Emujow and Testifie) on 17 November, 2016.

He then released Maa Maa (a song used to celebrate his mother  Susannah, women and mothers in general) in March 2018 featuring MOBO nominated artiste – Juliette Farrell produced by UK based Nigerian producer – Faiyabrand. Maa Maa was nominated in the

‘Song of the year category’ at the 2018 GX Gospel Awards in United Kingdom but it was his follow up song to ‘Pamoto’ (Pamoto Remix) that actually won the Song of the year at the

2018 GX Gospel Awards. Pamoto Remix produced by Faiyabrand featured Zambian gospel artiste – That Boy Massin, Uganda’s Reggae star – Boris One Spitter and UK’s Reggae Gospel star – Annette Bee.

Shoggy also won Afrobeat artist of the year 2018 at the GX Gospel Awards United Kingdom again; an award he won in 2016.

He is currently working on releasing his debut album, ’emujow’ in 2019 / 2020 and after performing at the 2018 Spin awards in Atlanta Georgia in the USA (his first international music gig), Shoggy intends to have a music tour in the USA and a host of African countries.

Shoggy’s career in Radio broadcasting started in February, 2017 as he kicked off his own personal show dubbed, ‘Be Inspired With Shoggy Tosh’ (a radio show hosted by Shoggy Tosh and guest host DJ Jhyde) on Salt FM UK, Liveway Radio Lagos Nigeria, Heart Song Live Scotland, MZ Radio London & AEG Radio Atlanta USA & Facebook Live. His show also features the renowned Top 10 BIWST weekly chart and the #1 BIWST Song of the Year.

At the 2018 GX Awards, Shoggy was voted the Radio Personality of the year – his first radio broadcasting award after receiving over 15 different nominations in USA and the United Kingdom within the space of 18 months.
