CANTON CAJO JONES is a singer, rapper, songwriter, producer, vocal arranger, youth pastor and entrepreneur, as well as a dedicated husband and father of 4.
In 2001 Canton started his own gospel recording label known as ‘CAJO International’ he released his first album in 2002 entitled 20 Years, 3 months & 12 Days, which chronicled his journal to salvation.
Since then he has worked with heavy hitters in the industry such as Kierra Kiki Sheard, James Fortune, Pastor Charles Jenkins, John Waller, Uncle Reece, Vicki Yohe, Deitrick Haddon, J Moss, Tye Tribbett, T Haddy, Isaac Carree, Viktory, Andy Mineo, Matt Pitt, William Murphy, Jor’dan Armstrong, Richie Righteous, Bizzle, Crystal Tamar, KJ 52, Jonathan Phillips, GIdeonzArmy, Corey Coco Condrey, Mr Del, Vashawn Mitchell, William McDowell, and Joann Condrey.
Canton has earned Grammy nominations for his part in the 2005 compilation “Holy Hip Hop: Taking the Gospel to the Streets” as well as his song ‘Window’ in 2011. He also won three gospel choice awards and the trailblazer in Media & Entertainment award.
He’s been honored with the key to the city of Carrollton, Georgia for his work within the community not only as an artist and entertainer but also for his work with the youth from early elementary to high schoolers keeping them on the straight path and encourage those who are considered at risk.
Canton was called to be a pastor in 2015 where he and his wife founded ‘ The Free Life Church. The goal with Free Life Church is to minister to the younger generations in ways that reach and teach them while maintaining some of the African American cultural values. From those who wear traditional Dashiki’s and Kimono or those who are engaged in the hip-hop culture with baggy pants, hats, braids and more.
He wants to reach those who will often get turned down from worshipping at other church. He wants his
church to be their entrance into the freedom of a relationship with Jesus Christ.
